Dramatic aging study underlines existing wellness trends

Human bodies do not age at a steady rate, scientists have discovered. Instead, aging is marked by dramatic peaks at 44- and 60-years.

The 2024 research published in Nature Aging (1) journal may add further momentum to growing trends in health and wellness (2).

The study tracked biological age of participants for factors such as metabolism and genes. Scientists measured c. 11,000 molecules. A staggering 81% of these underwent radical changes at the key ages – such as reduced fat and alcohol metabolism.

Scientific advances like these will help manufacturers better tailor products to specific conditions/ times of life. Products such as biological age methylation tests and supplements that personalise healthy aging are likely to become increasingly significant.
